On Wednesday, June 11, from 7 to 9pm Scott Stringer and special guest Thomas P. DiNapoli, New York State Comptroller, are hosting a "Neighborhood Forum on Preserving Local Businesses on the Upper West Side."
The event, which is co-sponsored by other local politicians and community groups, is being held at West Side Institutional Synagogue, 120 W 76th Street (between Broadway and Columbus Ave). RSVP to Scott Stringer's office at [email protected] or at 212-669-4451. For more information, click here.
I imagine this event will be well-attended and the conversation lively, as it seems every day another local store or restaurant closes its doors. The latest places I've heard about are Sugarhill Java & Tea in Harlem and La Creperie on Broadway between 98th and 99th Streets. Do you have a favorite place that has closed, that you still miss going to?
